My husband is an alcoholic and has been for at least the last 20 years. Occasionally he quits for a minimal amount of time. He is 43 we have been married for
almost 19 years. We have 4 children ages 14 - 5. We are both educated. It has been a problem for me for a long time now. We have talked many times yet he
won't do anything to get help for himself. I am confused as to what my role should be and as my children grow older I get more and more concerned about
his problem....

My partner battles 2 addictions: sex (100s of mags and videos stashed away in the attic) and shopping (finished paying off a 6-figure cc debt over 10 years). In the last year, he has discovered meditation and practises it for an hour a day. It seems to help. He has become "mindful" of his actions. Bu my concern is related to the benefits of a 12-step program in conjunction with meditation. You see... both of his addictions are something that he conducts with secrecy, especially from...

It just came clear to me today that my fiance has a problem. He's being sneaky, spending our bill $ after I told him I needed it, moody, selffish, and apparently doesn't care that we can't pay the bills and that we are getting married really soon. How do I tell him all these things and let him know that I think he has a problem?- without him getting defensive. And how can I tell him that I don't want to marry someone like this? - Esp. when he knows I love him.
